Thankful Tuesday

Just one today, but it's a biggie: I'm doing really well with having no conception success this month. Of course, I'm disappointed, but I'm not the weepy mess I was last month. I'm grateful for that because crying like I did last month is exhausting, emotionally and physically.

Not sure whether to say 'well done', or to give you a virtual hug, or both of the above! That soul-draining crying does hurt, but it doesn't happen every month as you are finding out.

Just a little tip that we found worked (and it was unintentional...) okay, perhaps two tips. When you go back to making love for fun, it enriches your relationship and sometimes results in a baby. I'm sure you've heard that before and its hard to make your brain switch from 'got to make a baby, got to make a baby' and just go with the flow. Second tip is more practical (and please forgive me if this is too much information/too personal) but if you use lubrication, Preseed is excellent. It enhances the environment for the little swimmers whereas most lubricants kill off the little fellas before they even get going. Google it and see what you think.

Hope this helps, and again forgive me if I have been too personal. I just wanted to pass on some of what we have learnt.

Love Di x

Thanks for the thoughts. I really am doing ok with it and have been for awhile (look for a post to come on this; I'm still working on it since it's more involved than my typical posts). I think that's why I was kinda shocked at how hard of a time I had with it last month - I'd thought I was past the crying jags.

We've been using Preseed for awhile (well over a year, I don't remember exactly when I first got it), figuring it falls into the "can't hurt, and could very well help" camp. I feel like we're doing a lot of those sorts of things, enough so that yes, your first tip is very true. Thanks for the suggestion, and if you have any others, *please* share, in case I've not heard them. :)

The thing that worked for us was... spending the night in a hotel for Hubby's Post Christmas Work do and availing ourselves of the facilities - swim, sauna, jacuzzi and then some 'downtime' before dinner...

Hi Renee, I just found your blog via your comment on my week in books post, and I wanted to offer sympathy on the conception process. We were trying to conceive for 15 months before we got pregnant with Hannah, and it was a very difficult and lonely time, with lots of wrestling with God over His will and timing. I hope you continue to have peace about the process.

Take care,
Catherine

Thanks Catherine -

I really do have peace with it most of the time, it's just some months ...

The month before last was really really rough, and I'm still not sure why exactly that one got to me so much.
